Education

I attended high school at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (https://www.imsa.edu/discover/globalacclaim/features) before moving on to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where I currently am pursuing a double major in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Physics; my cumulative GPA is a 3.54.

Experience

In high school I was a peer tutor for Spanish and Physics. I have taken: AP Calculus BC (score of 5), AP Chemistry (score of 4), AP Physics C: Mechanics (score of 4), AP Spanish Language (score of 4), AP World History (score of 4), SAT (score of 2380 in one sitting), ACT (score of 35 in one sitting), SAT II Physics (score of 800), SAT II Math I & II (score of 800), Multivariable Calculus (earned a grade of A), and Calculus-based Electricity & Magnetism (successfully passed a proficiency test for the course). As a final note in qualifications, I co-authored a fifty-page math paper dealing heavily with calculus that was later published in the math journal SCIENCE CHINA Mathematics. I want to be a tutor because I like to learn, and when one finds something he/she enjoys, the naturally inclination is to share this joy with someone else. Also, the world needs more educated people.

Hobbies

I like to think of myself as excelling in a few certain areas that I am passionate for. I played the violin and swam competitively for ten years each. While I don't focus on swimming or violin as much anymore, I do return to them from time to time. I love hip-hop dance and breakdancing. It's more or less the second most important part of my life right now behind school. Not only is it a way to let loose, but every time I learn something new I can't help but smile because of how exciting and fun dance can be.
